Visits to the Melk Concentration Camp Memorial (Melk Memorial) in the former crematorium are free of charge at any time. The memorial is located at Schießstattweg 2, 3390 Melk.
The premises of the former crematorium also house an overview exhibition on the history of the camp.

The key for the garden gate can be borrowed from the guard in the entrance area of the "Birago Pioneer Barracks", Prinzlstraße 22, upon deposit of an official photo ID.

At present, the concentration camp memorial is not accessible for wheelchair users. If you would like to visit the memorial, please contact us. The future accessibility of the concentration camp memorial is being planned.
Toilets and drinking water are available at the concentration camp memorial (winter closure from 1 November to the end of March).

Arrival by public transport / car

The Melk Concentration Camp Memorial is located directly next to the Birago pioneer barracks in the southern part of Melk. Melk is easily accessible by train from both Vienna and Linz. Information on train connections: www.oebb.at

The memorial site can be reached on foot from Melk railway station in a southerly direction via Dorfnerstraße in about 12 to 15 minutes.

There are parking spaces both along Dorfnerstraße and along Schießstattweg.
